This customer contacted me as the nursery school in Letchworth , Hertfordshire had a playground that was just ‘mud’ and very unsightly which meant it was not very practical for the children to play on. After 3 site surveys to discuss raising the manholes and putting in all new concrete edgings as well as the complete install of premium artificial grass, we started the job. First job was to dig away all by the edges so we could install plastic edgings which the grass was eventually secured too. Then approximately 20 tons of soil was removed , a ground stabiliser installed and then 20 ton of sub base was laid , levelled and compacted. With a laser level up we got the exact levels required for our final stage of the base which was 0-4mm granite dust. This was laid, wetted, compacted and screeded flat to give the perfect base for our Hurricane artificial grass. A 2nd membrane was installed on top of the base to prevent weeds by securing it with stainless steel to the edging. The grass was then rolled out in place and left to acclimatise before we stretched, joined, and cut in all the grass.

The results as you can see from the video was stunning and the children now have safe, practical and stunning play area to enjoy all year round.

The feedback we had was amazing and everyone loved our work, especially the children! As you can see, we have many accreditations and associations with professional bodies such as Which, Herts County Council, TrustMark and The APL…..plus we are members of Ed First who have a fantastic relationship with local schools.
